In 2023, the Tbilisi Museums Union became an institutional member of the ICOM (International Council of Museums) of Georgia. As an institutional member, the Union joins the global network of ICOM, which comprises over 50,000 museum professionals and institutions across 142 countries. Membership grants access to various benefits:
Participation in conferences and partner events;
Access to publications and professional standards;
Enrolment in qualification-enhancing programs;
The issuance of a membership card.
Notably, in 2023, ICOM Georgia welcomed 118 new members, comprising 109 individual, 1 institutional, and 8 student category members.
