Ilia and Tbilisi

Ilia 1 - Ilia and Tbilisi

The publication “Ilia and Tbilisi” delves into the unique character of Tbilisi, showcasing its historical areas, urban environment, geographical location, multiculturalism, diversity, and the commemorated figures of the Union of Tbilisi Museums along with their connections. This book combines the narratives of Ilia Chavchavadze and Tbilisi, portraying Ilia’s profound love for the city.

“Tbilisi is our ancestral city, and all of us, regardless of our nationality, who were born, live, and wander here, are its children. We must collectively contribute with the same heartbeat and spirit to the repair, enhancement, and fortification of our capital,” as expressed in the publication. The life and contributions of Ilia Chavchavadze represent an era, shaping the history and future of the nation, establishing the groundwork for state construction and fortifying the foundation for the times ahead.

The “Tbilisi” project aligns with the strategy of uniting Tbilisi museums, embodying a synthesis of traditional museum preservation and an educational dimension. The content within the book is sourced from the archives of the Ilia Chavchavadze Literary-Memorial Museum under the Union of Tbilisi Museums.
