Celebrating International Museum Day aims at promoting the museums as the tools for enriching cultures as well as being the link for developing of cooperation, common understanding and the peace among the nations.
International Museum Day is traditionally celebrated on 18 May, which the ICOM selects each year a theme and this year’s theme is Museums for Equality: Diversity and Inclusion.
The resources of museums have great potential for peoples of all origins and backgrounds to develop their social value. As agents of change and trusted institutions, there is no time like the present for museums to demonstrate their relevance by engaging constructively in the political, social, and cultural realities of modern society.
