On March 21st, the Tbilisi Museums Union unveiled a new book titled “Galaktion and Tbilisi” at the Dmitri Aleksidze Theatre. This book showcases unpublished materials from the poet’s diaries that are dedicated to Tbilisi.

“We seized another opportunity to showcase the profound connection between ‘The King of Poetry’ and Tbilisi by introducing the literary heritage preserved in various archives and collections,” stated Nini Sanadiradze, the head of The Tbilisi Museums Union.

The event was hosted by Vakhtang Javakhadze, a poet and bibliographer known for his work on the renowned Georgian poet Galaktion Tabidze. The evening featured a performance of the experimental play “Blue Horses” by the “Wondering Moon Theatre,” inspired by the biography and poetry of Galaktion Tabidze.

This new book is distinctive as it compiles previously unpublished materials from Galaktion Tabidze’s time in Tbilisi, considered the most significant period in the poet’s life.
