4 1 - OPENING OF RENEWED EXPOSITION OF VAKHTANG CHABUKIANI MEMORIAL HOUSE – MUSEUM

The Vakhtang Chabukiani Memorial House Museum underwent a one-month closure for renovations. Upon reopening on February 27, 2017, coinciding with Vakhtan Chabukiani’s birthday, a new exhibition was unveiled.

This special event featured an exhibit showcasing the stage costumes and accessories worn by the esteemed Georgian ballet master in acclaimed theater productions like “Red Poppy,” “Fire Dance With Torch,” “Othello,” “Raymonda,” “Carmen,” and more. It marked the inaugural display of these significant artifacts.

Distinguished guests, including Mayor Davit Narmania, Deputy Mayor Nina Khatiskaci, and Head of Cultural Affairs Department Ia Makacaria, attended the official ceremony.

As the ceremony concluded, the family of composer Shalva Davitashvili announced their intent to contribute Vakhtan Chabukiani’s interviews and the full version of the movie “Laurensia” to the Vakhtan Chabukiani Memorial House Museum.
