Did you ever wonder how the dances were created or why?

With the English-language educational program “From Ritual to Ballet” offered at Vakhtang Chabukiani Memorial House Museum you will be given insight into the history of the art of dance, what dance is, when and why it emerged, how it developed worldwide as well as in Georgia.

Participants of the program, with the use of photo, video and audio materials, will receive information about:

✥ When and how the first image of a dancer was found;
✥ What was the purpose of a ritual and how the folk dances emerged;
✥ What is the difference between ballroom, national, and classical dances;
✥ Where and when the ballet was formed and who developed it in Georgia;
✥ What the modern dances are.

At the end of the program, participants will “create” different dance costumes.
