President Salome Zurabishvili awarded Nini Sanadiradze, the General Director of the Tbilisi Museums Union and the Doctor of Art Studies, with a medal of honor, which was granted in acknowledgment of her exceptional dedication to safeguarding and conserving Georgian cultural and historical heritage, commendable presentations abroad.

The President highlighted the international success of the revitalized museums under the Tbilisi Museums Union, emphasizing the forthcoming rehabilitation project at the Tbilisi Dolls and Toys Museum. Once these works are finalized, ancient dolls will be showcased within the renewed museum. Moreover, the President underscored the significant role played by Nini Sanadiradze in driving these impactful initiatives forward.

During the ceremony, Nini Sanadiradze expressed gratitude to the President of Georgia and underscored the significance and role of cultural heritage. She highlighted the invaluable cultural wealth housed within the museums gathered in the Tbilisi Museums Union and the extensive collections they preserve.

“Receiving this award is a great honor, especially on this significant day. I extend my appreciation to Mrs. Eliso Kotrikadze for her recognition and tireless work. Without the dedication of Mrs. Eliso and Mrs. Tina Tumanishvili back in 1936, the establishment of the museum of dolls and toys would not have been possible, shaping the rich cultural heritage spanning across Georgia.”

Eliso Kotrikadze, because of her remarkable 50-year tenure at the Tbilisi Dolls and Toys Museum, was likewise honored with the Medal of Honor at the Orbeliani Palace today. This recognition commemorates her exceptional personal dedication to exploring the cultural heritage of Georgia, celebrating her extensive professional career.

An exhibition of puppeteers dedicated to the International Puppet Week was held in the presidential palace same day, including Bacho Tsanava, puppeteer of the Tbilisi Dolls and Toys Museum.
