On April 13, 2023, Tbilisi Museums Union staff brought the “Museum Outside the Museum” program to 18 juvenile convicts at the Special Penitentiary Service. They shared insights into the history and development of the Georgian alphabet, highlighting ancient examples of Georgian writing. At the end of the meeting, a short documentary film “Living Culture of Three Types of the Georgian Alphabet” was shown.
The collaboration between the Special Penitentiary Service and the Tbilisi Museums Union commenced in the summer of 2022 and continued for two months. Throughout this period, there was active participation and engagement from the convicts.
These educational programs play a pivotal role in the rehabilitation and social reintegration of the individuals involved, increasing interest in academic and professional education among the accused.
