The essence of museum life relies on contextual analysis of different eras. To honor this tradition, the Tbilisi Museums Union is organizing the 2nd International Conference, “Georgia and the 20th Century,” set to take place on December 6 and 7.
The upcoming two-day international conference, “Georgia and the 20th Century,” examines genuine facts and historical records. Through various speakers, attendees will explore the works of artists from diverse fields during the totalitarian regime, shedding light on the cultural dynamics of the 20th century.
The conference forms an important segment of a multidisciplinary research initiative, engaging researchers from diverse fields. Its primary goal is to unveil distinct contexts surrounding artists, eras, events, and environments while exploring parallel cultural phenomena.
The mission of the Tbilisi Museums Union is to give museums a new role in modern society, which can be described as a synthesis of the preservation of traditional museum activities and the educational aspect, within which the focus is on sharing knowledge with each person.
