The Union of Tbilisi Municipal Museums aims at generating a new role of museums in modern society, which would combine the preservation of traditional museum activities and the development of the educational aspect through the sharing of the knowledge with each interested person. In the XX century, the whole art was limited to strict ideological frameworks. However, despite the dictatorship and severe ideological pressure, theatre and painting, literature and other fields of art based on the national roots and values were still developing.
Traditional museum life is unthinkable without the analysis of the epoch and the context. Georgian art contains a wide variety of topics for studies and researches, including a complex discussion of the personal and professional life of the biographies of the artists in the context of the epoch, cultural and socio-political environment, which is important for the study and analysis of the history of culture. The task of the research is to present an artist, an epoch, different contexts of an environment, and contemporary cultural processes in a single line.
