Educational Program Schedule in Open Space

Garden Named after Gia Kancheli (Artos Garden), Davit Agmashenebeli Avenue No. 103, Tbilisi

To prevent the risk of COVID-19 transmission,
the Tbilisi Museums Union will conduct its educational programs
in the open space of the Gia Kancheli Garden (Artos Garden).

 

The Tbilisi Museums Union’s mission is to redefine museums in today’s society, merging traditional museum functions with a strong emphasis on education, aiming to impart knowledge to each individual. Modern museums prioritize the visitor’s experience alongside preserving collections, expanding their scope to cater to diverse audiences.

Open-space programs will be conducted every day at 16:00.

 

May 19 – City Balconies: Exploring Salon Life

The Nikoloz Baratashvili Memorial House Museum’s educational program sheds light on Tbilisi’s rich socio-cultural life during the 19th century, highlighting the vibrant salon culture—a unity of individuals sharing common interests, tastes, and lifestyles.

The program is intended for children aged 10-15

 

May 20 – Diary Writing

At the Galaktion Tabidze Memorial House Museum, the educational and thought-provoking program explores the significance of diaries and their value. Participants explore various facets: the origins of diaries, their purpose, the practice of diary writing, the remarkable historical importance of famous figures’ diaries—often prized as crucial historical documents, and more.

The program is intended for children aged 12-15

 

May 21 – Doll History

At the Tbilisi Dolls and Toys Museum, the educational program delves into the art of creating traditional dolls, exploring tales behind Georgian ethnographic queens and dolls from diverse cultures. Participants will discover the puppeteer profession and craft their traditional Georgian queens by the end of the session.

The program is intended for children aged 6-15

 

May 22 – Wall Language

The Educational Center of the Museums in Tbilisi Museums Union will explore the history of street art and the earliest instances of wall paintings in its program.

The program is intended for children aged 13-16

 

May 23 – Time Travel

The educational and cognitive program at the Merab Kostava Memorial House Museum will explore the inception and importance of the “Memory of Humanity.” It’ll delve into the origins of the first museums, the rooms of wonder, collectors, and more.

The program is intended for children aged 10-13

 

May 24 – Exploring Polynomials:

The educational and cognitive program at the Galaktion Tabidze Memorial House Museum will guide participants in understanding and “guessing” polynomials. Through poems, phrases, and examples from various artistic domains, attendees will engage with polynomials creations by Georgian and global artists, creating their own polynomials mathematical, poetic, and architectural samples by the program’s end.

The program is intended for children aged 12-15

 

May 25 – Ballet and Storytelling:

At the Vakhtang Chabukian Memorial House Museum, the educational program explores ballet’s history and the evolution of ballet costumes, focusing on the captivating tale of the Nutcracker. Participants become storytellers, contributing to the narrative of this enchanting fairy tale.
