The Union of Tbilisi Museums, on the bases of Kote and Soso Tsereteli Memorial Museum, is launching a new project.
The project Ideology and the Arts is a new cycle of meetings, which is aimed at revealing of reflections of the ideology in the arts under the rule of the Soviet Georgia in the twentieth century: how art responded to the Soviet ideological reality, which conditions determined the formation of the new visual structure and language, what factors promoted the dramatic instrumentalization.
The content and the visual aspects in different fields of art during the Soviet period as well as the various chronological stages of the XX century, the contemporary processes in the art of Soviet Georgia, the wide perspective of the issue and also the problem of periodization will be discussed within the frames of the project. In particular, the meetings will cover the following issues:
- Painting of the Soviet cinema and theatre,
- Soviet Architecture,
- Soviet Fine Arts,
- Soviet Spatial Planning,
- Soviet Hero,
- Soviet Epoch and Censorship, etc.
Young researchers and explorers, within this project, will be given the opportunity to share the results of their work to the wide audience.
