To commemorate World Puppetry Day on March 21, The Tbilisi Museums Union – Dolls Museum hosted a gathering of Georgian Doll-makers. During this meeting, they forged agreements for mutual cooperation and outlined plans for collaborative exhibitions.

The inception of World Puppetry Day traces back to Iranian puppet theater artist Javad Zolfaghari. At the XVIII Congress of the Union Internationale de la Marionnette (UNIMA) in Magdeburg in 2000, Zolfaghari proposed the idea for discussion. The inaugural celebration of World Puppetry Day took place in 2003.
